A Full Season of Entertainment in the Ozarks

For more than 50 years, live music shows have been a staple of Branson vacations, and the town now offers over 100 shows to choose from. Morning, afternoon, and night, the calendar is packed with country and bluegrass, gospel and patriotic tributes, magic and variety acts, dinner shows, and a Christmas season that fills theaters from early November through the end of December. If you are planning a trip to this stretch of the Ozarks, here are the highest-rated shows for 2026, along with the theaters where they play and what kind of show each one is.

Country, Bluegrass and Family Favorites

The Haygoods, at the Clay Cooper Theatre, bill themselves as Branson's highest-energy live music show, with five brothers and one sister switching between more than 20 instruments while performing rock, country and pop hits. The show is now in its 34th season, has sold 7.1 million tickets, and counts more than 2,000 sold-out performances. The box office reminds guests that every show sells out, so reserving early matters.

Clay Cooper's Country Express plays the same theater with 27 entertainers offering singing, dancing and comedy. For traditional bluegrass, The Petersens, an award-winning family band in their eighth season at the Little Opry Theatre in the Branson IMAX Entertainment Complex, play matinees. At the Presleys' Theater on Highway 76, Presleys' Country Jubilee has kept audiences entertained for more than 50 years with country music, southern gospel and the comedy antics of Herkimer and Cecil. The show holds a 4.7 rating and carries a Top Pick label.

Gospel, Patriotic and Faith-Based Productions

Branson's faith-based theaters are a highlight for many visitors. Sight & Sound Theatres presents David, a large-scale biblical stage production, running through October 8. Beginning November 3 and running through December 31, Sight & Sound stages Miracle of Christmas, which brings the original Christmas story to life with massive sets and live animals over a runtime of two hours and 20 minutes.

For patriotic entertainment, Spirit of America at King's Castle Theatre offers an all-American musical celebration. Southern gospel is well represented by New South Gospel and Ozarks Gospel at the Grand Country Music Hall, and by Smoke on the Mountain, a gospel-music theater production at the Little Opry Theatre with more than 30 classic tunes.

Variety, Magic and Tribute Shows

Tribute and variety shows fill the strip. Legends in Concert, at the Pepsi Legends Theater, is Branson's premier tribute show. SIX, at the same theater, is a vocal band of six real brothers who create a full-band sound using only their voices. Magic fans can see Reza Edge of Illusion at the Reza Live Theatre, or The Revollusionists, which unites five magicians. The Amazing Acrobats of Shanghai Circus perform at the Mickey Gilley Grand Shanghai Theatre, and The Texas Tenors, a Branson favorite, sing there as well. Dublin's Irish Tenors and The Celtic Ladies play King's Castle Theatre, and Grand Jubilee, at the Grand Country Music Hall, blends harmonies, gospel and country.

Dinner Shows

Dinner shows remain a signature Branson experience. Dolly Parton's Stampede is billed as Branson's most fun place to eat, featuring 32 magnificent horses and a cast of trick riders, with an early evening curtain. On Table Rock Lake, Silver Dollar City's Showboat, formerly the Showboat Branson Belle, carries guests on lunch and dinner cruises with music, comedy and magic. For a lighter evening, several murder-mystery dinner shows run through the season, including Riga-Tony's Murder Mystery Dinner Show and the WhoDunnit Hoedown.

The Christmas Season

Branson's Christmas calendar begins in early November. Branson's Christmas Wonderland opens November 1 and runs through December 31. A Christmas Story Dinner Show runs November 2 through December 26, Miracle of Christmas opens November 3, and the Cassandré Voice of an Angel Christmas Spectacular runs November 3 through December 10. Booking ahead is wise, because holiday dates fill quickly.

Planning Your Visit

Show times give travelers flexibility. Many productions offer 10 AM and 2 PM matinees along with 7:30 or 8 PM evening performances, so a full day can hold two or three shows. Because popular shows such as The Haygoods routinely sell out, booking seats ahead of your trip is the surest way to get the dates and times you want. Groups have options as well: Sight & Sound handles bookings of 15 or more for family reunions, youth groups and church congregations.
